The Winery
Wholly-owned by Moutai Group, Xi Jiu is a famous liquor-making enterprise located in Xijiu Town, Xishui County. This town lies in the midstream of Chishui River at North Guizhou Plateau and near the Erlangtan Ferry during the Red Army crossing the Chishui River for four times in the Long March. 50km away from Moutai Distillery, near the mountain and by the river, stretching for miles, it is called “Ten-Li Liquor Town”. With local glutinous sorghum as ingredients, Xijiu applies traditional brewing techniques of stewing for nine times and fermentation for eight times with starter propagation, accumulation, fermentation and distillation under high temperature, strictly following the solar terms. Starter propagation for one year and storage for three years will give it natural aging flavor. Blending with liquor instead of water makes this liquor product pure natural and highlights its Moutai-flavor, fine and elegant.
